Artist Highlight: November 2021
Updated: Aug 1, 2022

A k-band that features classical instruments, LUCY is one to check out and our first Artist Highlight post!
Artist Highlights will be done once a month and will feature artists that should be, well, highlighted! Unlike review posts, intro posts, or master posts, these will be more casual screech posts about why I personally love these groups and why I think y’all should, too!

LUCY is a group that is FULL of talent and pure laughter. Y’know the laughter that’s so hard, you go silent and wheeze? THAT laughter. Whether it’s the members making themselves laugh or making you laugh, it’s always around and it’s the best thing ever.
These guys never take themselves too serious, which is so refreshing considering their group has an elevated level of class automatically included with Ye Chan’s violin. Most kmusic groups and artists have a healthy level of headass-ery nowadays, an absolute must for such a stressful lifestyle. But even violinist Ye Chan is a sweet angel crackhead and gives us seagull and pig impressions with his violin and terrible car impressions.

Their bond, as a group, as friends, as a band, is just so pure and precious. Each member is incredible and ridiculous and so lovable. Yeop singing with an acoustic guitar in the bathroom on the toilet (tag yourself in that moment, I’m the camera face-planting to the floor at his talent), WONSANG’S CONTAGIOUS ASS WITCH CACKLE LAUGH, Ye Chan causing chaos literally wherever he goes and with whatever he does like an unbothered king, and the time Gwangil committed murder on his birthday.
also, please, we love spoiler Ye Chan.
“LUCY will continue on as a trio.” -Sangyeop, Gwangil, Wonsang literally all the time, over and over (RIP @ Ye Chan)

ALSO BRUH THE SCREAM GWANGIL LET OUT AT THE TERRIBLE PUN OF MYSTIC BECAUSE THEY COMMENTED ON YE CHAN ALWAYS WANDERING AROUND WITH A STICK AND SOMEONE SAID “MYSTIC-K”
GWANGIL IS ME, I AM HIM.
NOW. Their talent is really on par with their idiocy and I love that for them and for us. Musically, they are softer, but have gorgeous vocals and have a lot of different energies that they put in their tracks. From more soulful instrumentals like their intro to more upbeat tracks like “Flowering” to passionate performances and stages like we see on Immortal Songs and covers they do. They can crank OUT some bomb ass covers, y’all, and some of my favorites are below!
AREN'T THEY JUST OIAJDFOSAJDOPIASFS?!!?!?! I desperately need to get an intro post and master post up for them so you can see which of their tracks to rabbit hole into, but you really can’t go wrong with any LUCY track. A pure TREASURE, this group is.
I hope this got you guys at least a LITTLE excited for LUCY. Don't worry, you will see more of them here in starland. because they're too amazing not to love.
Until we meet again!
